Eight years ago Paducahans Justin and Erin Lewis purchased their charming Madison Street bungalow.
The living room of the home quickly became one of their favorite spaces. For Erin – an avid knitter – it became a comfortable place in which to make one of her many hand-knitted masterpieces.
Erin describes her style as eclectic. She says, “If I like it, I like it.”
A tasteful mixture of restored antique furniture, diverse artwork from their travels, and some contemporary pieces, everything works together to create a bright and happy room with an artistic flair.
Erin says the room started out with a couch she purchased that is covered in a geometric patterned fabric. The trunk she has repurposed as a coffee table was originally given from her grandfather to her grandmother as a wedding gift, and a refurbished cane-backed chair, that sits next to her couch, Justin and Erin found while riding their bikes. They strapped it to the back of one of their bikes and brought it home.
The Lewis living room has been decorated in a palette of autumn colors, which is perfect for Erin, as she says that’s her favorite season and the time of year when she kicks back in her living room more often – with, of course, a ball of yarn and her knitting needles in hand.
